Our perennial goal is to find NO LITTER on any river. In 2022, we are going to zero in on the likely catch areas for trash and other debris (some can be reused!), and set out to clean them anytime the weather and water levels are safe. These mini-cleanups, done by ‘River Stewards’ (paddlers and riverside hikers who comb the river for litter on their own ad hoc cleanup adventure), can be a model to help get litter to zero (outreach and education is the other – see our River Ambassador program for further developments there).
