WHERE: PNCA’s ArtHouse, 33 NW Park Ave. Portland, OR WHEN: Thursday, December 4, 2014, 6:00-9:00PM WHY: Because this is an awesome annual awareness event and silent auction fundraiser for We Love Clean Rivers; where we are able to showcases a series of local artists work that is made from river-trash removed by volunteers during the Down the River Clean Up on the Clackamas and the Great Willamette Clean Up. River Clean Up Weights Released!...

The highly anticipated weight totals from the 12th Annual Down the River Clean have been released! We apologize for the delay in posting. We had the 2nd highest volunteer turn out for the event that we’ve had in 12 years! There were 401 volunteers that together cleaned up a total of 2.82 tons (5,640 lbs.) of refuse from the Clackamas River. That averages out to be 14 lbs of trash cleaned per volunteer. The breakdown for each Park location of trash collected (in tons) includes: Barton – 0.15 Carver – 1.02 Riverside – 1.22 Clackamette – 0.42 53% of the total refuse collected was sorted into the “recycle” piles. Huge thanks to everyone for doing a great job pre-and-post sorting! 91% of those materials were indeed recycled, which is fantastic! The breakdown of that 91% includes: Metal – 65%...
